Alchemy

I am currently in Nashville at a retreat centered around the concept of alchemy. Google says, "the medieval precursor to chemistry, dedicated to the transformative power over matter. Its practitioners were fascinated by the idea of turning base metals into gold or in pursuit of a universal elixir."

Neato!

This idea of transformation resonates deeply with me, mirroring the human fascination with change and growth that pervades our culture. The theme is everywhere, whether through the narratives of books, the unfolding stories in movies, or Country and Western songs. There is a need for the protagonist to evolve, to emerge transformed by their journey. Without this you have no arc to your story.

Alchemy reassures me that every day presents a new narrative opportunity, a blank page where we can blend our unique blend of magic, however we define it, to forge something better.

It's a reminder that each day, we're given the chance to transmute the ordinary into something extraordinary, using whatever resources we have at our disposal.
