In life, well-intentioned people sometimes push us beyond our comfort zones, reminding us of the importance of setting boundaries.

At a retreat I'm currently attending, designed to provide maximum value, the organizers packed the schedule with 12 continuous hours of activities. (12!! Hours!!)

Initially, I was fully engaged, participating in guided meditation sessions and various activities. However, my energy began to wane after about five hours—I was physically present but emotionally checked out. I persevered, motivated by a sense of obligation to the presenters, but I started to get upset with myself for not honoring my inner hermit.

However, I've since taken steps to rectify this. Today, I'm embracing a morning of self-care, luxuriating in bed as I write blog posts and catch up on some laundry. I will join my new friends this afternoon and will get much more out of the presentations.
