Fall, Where Are You?

I love everything about fall—the crisp air, cozy sweaters, and the chance to pretend I’m the star of a nostalgic Gilmore Girls montage. But here’s the problem: it’s still hot out. Instead of sipping pumpkin spice lattes, I’m chugging iced coffee and trying to stay cool while staring longingly at my boots, which remain tucked away in the closet, mocking me.

It’s impossible to embrace fall when it feels like mid-July outside. I try to get into the seasonal spirit, but there’s something off about lighting an autumn-scented candle while running the AC at full blast. Should I even think about apple picking while still sweating through my t-shirts?

Yet, I’m determined to welcome fall, even if the weather refuses to cooperate. I’ve started slow—adding a cozy blanket to my couch and occasionally attempting a fall outfit (shorts and a scarf? Don’t knock it until you try it). I even baked some pumpkin muffins, although I had to wait until the evening to turn on the oven because who wants to roast themselves along with the muffins?

I know I will kick myself when it's 50 below. But for now. I am going to eat my pumpkin bread with a margarita!
