Modern Elder Academy Thoughts - Part 2 All About Lee
From the Website
Lee likes to say that he’s as ordinary as dirt but as complex as soil. He’s resident “cowboy sage” at our campus in Santa Fe, where his love for the simple yet complex hum of nature has led him to work in holistic land management. As steward of our four-square mile regenerative ranch, Lee translates nature’s teachings into simple insights that encourage us to tune into the inner and outer landscape of the world around us.
You will appreciate the opportunity to be in his presence and slow down, listen to nature, and gather around the campfire of shared understanding.

Please forgive my white suburban woman lingo, but I can’t even with this guy! I wish I could explain this superior human being.
If you went to a casting call for the most wonderful, anti-toxic masculine mentor cowboy, this guy would walk in and nail the role effortlessly. His mannerisms, look, hobbies—everything about him radiated the essence of the perfect Modern Elder Academy cowboy. He was the absolute epitome of wisdom and kindness, and we all instantly fell into a rare and beautiful “friend love” with him.
Each morning, he led us in a unique 'cowboy yoga' session with a guided meditation on a natural theme, blissfully grounding us for the day ahead. During the afternoons, he guided us on nature walks, sharing his experience of the land. In the evenings, he joined us for dinner, where he regaled us with captivating tales—whether about sweat lodges, profound conversations with shamans, or his travels in Africa.
One of his stories from Africa touched us deeply: he stayed with a family and quietly snuck food to the children, choosing to eat less so that his portion could be shared. It was a powerful reflection of his selflessness and commitment to others.
He was undoubtedly the most outstanding member of an already outstanding crew—truly a modern cowboy sage who left us all inspired and grateful to have crossed paths with him.
